  • GoDaven.com - Traveling? Visit this site to find a minyan anywhere, using this site's worldwide Orthodox Minyan database!

  • The Ultimate Shabbat website - Excellent resources including Jewish hospitality around the world, halachos, audio and video resources, children's coloring pages, and even recipes!

  • Kashrut.com - Really comprehensive kashrut information, including articles on different areas of kashrut.  Really in-depth information on Kosher- for-Passover products and Kashrut alerts.

  • OU.Org - The Orthodox Union's official webpage.  Tons of learning links and files, plus a shul index and a kashrus section with the latest Kashrus alerts.  

  • Zemanim Calculator from OU.org - Helps you calculate halachic zemanim (davening times) in different places.  Very helpful for the traveler.

  • Yahrzeit Calculator

  • Hebrew Fonts - You can download these Hebrew fonts for free for use on your home computer.  They are a must if you want to read Israeli websites or the Sifrei Kodesh in Hebrew site (see below).

Audio Shiurim (Classes)

  • 613.org - HUGE selection of video and audio shiurim on a variety of topics including the Parsha, Daf Yomi, Basic Judaism, along with audio files of the davening, the bentching (Grace after Meals), and Shabbos Zemiros (songs).  Also has Chassidic stories and a large collection of women's classes by Mrs. Shira Smiles.

  • Shiur.net - RealAudio lectures from the rabbis at Yeshiva University

  • DafYomi.org - Great collection of resources for learning the Daf Yomi, the daily page of Talmud learned by thousands of Jews the world over.  Audio shiurim allow you to listen as you learn.

  • Torah Today - Daily 1-minute streaming audio messages on Jewish topics such as the Parsha, Pirkei Avot, Jewish history and observance, or personal development.

Learning Online

  • National Jewish Outreach Program (NJOP) - A wonderful Basic Judaism site with features such as the Hebrew Reading Crash Course and Turn Friday Night into Shabbat, an interactive Alef-Bet (click the letter to hear how it sounds), and fun stuff like an Ask the Rabbi column.

  • Ohr Somayach International - Great site for learning as well as Jewish humor.  Has articles and Q&A on the weekly parsha, Daf Yomi, audio files of music and lectures, a weekly Ask the Rabbi column, and kids' features such as the Yossi & Co. cartoons and Simcha's Torah Stories.  Check out the Jewish Top 10 lists and Chopped Liver cartoons for a good laugh!

  • Sifrei Kodesh in Hebrew - Amazing collection of Jewish texts online in their entirety.  Includes the Tanach, Mishnah, Tosefta, Talmud Bavli, Talmud Yerushalmi, and Mishneh Torah.  These are all in Hebrew, so you'll need to install Hebrew fonts if you don't have them already. 

  • Virtual Beis Medrash - Archives of classes on Jewish philosophy and halacha; also full-length shiurim on the weekly parsha as well as Daily S.A.L.T. (Surf a Little Torah), which helps you get ready for Shabbos in 5 minutes a day!

  • Torah Tots - Lots of Jewish fun stuff for kids, such as games, coloring pages, information about holidays and mitzvos

  • www.Shamash.org - Primarily a learning site, but if you're traveling, have a look at their Kosher Restaurant Database for the lowdown on kosher dining in the area!

  • AMIT - AMIT gives thousands of needy Israeli youngsters a first-rate education and loving care, helping Israeli children to become fulfilled and productive citizens, giving them practical skills as well as the timeless values of Torah and Zionism.  Home of the Tanach Yomi program.

The Southern Jewish Experience

  • The Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience has information about the history of Jews in the South as well as in Memphis itself. 
  • Jewish-American History on the Web is a fascinating site as a whole, and has a lot of Southern history in the "Jews in the Civil War" section.
  • Southern Jewish Historical Society - Join the Society in learning about the Jewish experience in the American South from the Colonial period, through the Civil War to the present.  The Southern Jewish Historical Society includes members from all religions and backgrounds.
  • Dixie Jews Homepage - Has some brief histories of Jews in the South, but mainly provides tourism and municipal links for travelers or those relocating to the south.
